Maybe it’s time for some re-branding too, something like a name change to Denny’s, or get some girls in to serve and call it Hooters (all spelt and pronounced with strong Italian accents of course)
I hope the cartoonists don’t plan to show Claire’s idea turning out well and “saving” the restaurant. As others have said, in the real world, it’s the path to ruin.He has a little jewel of a regional Italian restaurant, that only needs promotion and hopefully a boost from inviting a few food critics…And he’s supposed to waste his time learning to make unfamiliar and incompatible food like falafel or barbecue…. while handing over…and to an inexperienced new hire(!)… the responsibility for all the traditional dishes it’s taken him 40 years to perfect.
I’m cringing… what a bad idea and he is too kind and loving to say no. At least this is a comic and no one is personally affected, but still…p.s. @ comicsssfan – you’re a bit obsessed with the stove… I promise you, the “comic customers” will get their food and it will be cooked just fine on whatever stove is drawn.
sheesh… you people. Of course it’s gonna turn out good. Why would the writers wanna crush their girl (Claire) with failure here? Quit acting like this strip follows some real-life sequence of events. It’s a comic strip. And when I was a kid, I ordered a burger when we went to the chinese restaurant. Best to appeal to more customers with at least a small sampling of alternative food for people in a group that don’t happen to like the main faire…more $$$‘s. (LOVE chinese food now that I’m an adult. Don’t know what the hell I was thinking! lol).

Anything looks easy when you watch someone who knows what he’s doing.

How the pasta is made, and how the sauce is made, determines if that dish is any good or just a bland substitute.
Let’s hope Claire isn’t in charge of either, but only of dishing them up.
