Our cat is anything but a lap cat, unless you’re sick. Then she stick to you like a burr and will follow you if you get up waiting for you to sit again. Though she’s never broken 10 lbs, even when wet.
About 16 years ago I blew a disk in my back. For six weeks I’d get up in the morning with my wife, who was heading for work, take my meds (“Drugs are goooooood,” my PT told me, “Drugs are our friennnnnnnnnnnnds!”), and go back to bed, curled up in the same position I’d just left. Around 11 every morning, our two cats would peer up over the foot of the bed as if thinking, “Hey, what’s wrong with the big cat? Why isn’t he moving?” Then they’d both crawl up into bed and curl up behind my knees. This is how my wife would find us when she’d get home from work: Me curled up where she left me more than eight hours earlier, the two cats curled up behind me. Of course, these were strange cats to begin with: They’d follow me to the mailbox, wait while I got the mail from a collective box at the end of the street, then follow me home from the box.

Cat as heating pad.

The dreaded sleep aura. My Snowball had this. Real pain if you were trying to watch TV and he turned it on.

I have a 20 pound tom cat that considers me furniture. He allows me to sleep between him and his recliner.

Edit to previous. Let me rephrase that. I have a 20 pound OWNER that allows me to use his recliner.

No wonder Arlo has a backache. Look how he is sitting!

Nothing like a sleeping cat to make you relax.

I figured my cats think of ME as the heating pad.

Face it Arlo, Ludwig gave you a Cat scan and is now providing the requisite treatment.

Whenever my big cat crawls up onto my lap and starts to rumble, especially when I am convalescing from surgery, we’re both sawing logs within minutes.

I think Jim has spies in my house, as this is a picture of my husband and cat, Abby. He keeps doing that- stealing cat happenings in my house to draw.
