Funny…as kids we had to ask permission to be out in the rain, which made it fun.

It wasn’t the rain that bothered me so much as the lightning.

Today’s strip should have been Calvin’s daydream about exploring Mars.

@The Snoopster(injured): Sorry to hear about the biking accident. Don’t know how you managed to do it on the same day that Calvin’s dad flew off his bike. Glad you weren’t sleeping on the roof like Calvin on Wednesday. Also glad it wasn’t a head injury. Good luck with your recovery, and good luck in school this fall.

Yesterday’s strip was about Calvin’s parents. Calvin and Hobbes were not present, and Calvin and Hobbes weren’t even mentioned. Are there other strips that don’t even mention Calvin or Hobbes? CrazyIrishOperaGirl found some strips that didn’t contain Calvin or Hobbes, but Calvin was mentioned in them. (Thanks for the research and detailed strip descriptions, CrazyIrishOperaGirl.)

@ Snoopster: Heal up quick. Consider this adding my signiture to your cast!I used to run to the house if it started raining hard. For a bar of soap! We didn’t get the showere put into the tub for a couple of years, so this was an opportunity!

I never got why people hate it when it rains while they are having fun getting wet.

Once I was sitting in the jacuzzi with some relatives when it started raining. We continued what we were doing until we heard thunder, then got out but stayed outside. Some of my cousins even then refused to get out, and balanced a picnic table on the edges of the hot tub to block out the rain. :)

Hopefully Mum won’t make him take a shower or bath tonight.

Sorry for the bad break. It’s no fun during the Summer time, when there are so many activities to do. On the plus side, it gives you more time to read Go Comics.

Seems when it comes from the clouds its uncontrollable,kind of scary ,for Calvin .

Just like my mom… Swim for an hour in a lake, light drizzle hits for 2 mins and out of the water and run

Odd…we ran around in the sprinklers as kids, then ran around in the rain, too. To this day, I go outside and stand in the rain…must have something to do with living in the desert; I’m a desert vegetable (in more ways than one).

Um Calvin, I guess you are smart enough to come in out of the rain.

You’d think if you where already wet you wouldn’t better running inside. Unless of course you where in a swimming pool with lightning.

I got kicked by a horse and broke my ankle the summer before I started high school. Spent my first two weeks of high school on crutches – what a bummer!Good luck with your leg and with school.My grandkids start school in 2 days.Thanks again Hobbes – loved those comics.

Ha. Reminds me of here at the camp I work at….they have a “Sunday funday” in which they have a whole bunch of water activities. One Sunday it downpoured. The event was postponed, and it was funny seeing all these kids dressed to get wet huddled under porch roofs and trees!

Actually, around here it’s not the rain but the lightning. We had a big storm yesterday with wind and lightning and all. You don’t want to be outside in that stuff.

Hope you’re not in too much pain! Here’s to a speedy recovery. Now back to business. My kids did the same thing! However, they would snow ski in the rain….go figure!

Water, water everywhere, and all all the boards did shrink. Water, water everywhere, nor a drop to drink….

As a kid, when we in the backyard pool and it started to rain, Mom would call us in. If it was a nice tropical shower we would grumble and argue. Sometimes she would relent. If there was thunder and lightning dancing about, we didn’t wait for the raindrops — we were usually in the house before Mom called.

Snoopster, I wish you swift and complete healing. It’s a real bummer that you got hurt during summer vacation a whole month before school starts. I hope you weren’t doing something “Calvin” to cause the accident — on the other hand, if you were, then at least you were having a lot of fun before the crash.

I remember many times being in the swimming pool, and my mother telling me to come in because it was going to rain.

My school starts september 6 or 7. When did you get out for summer break? I got out for summer break june 21 I think.

I got caught in the rain the other night. It was the lightening that worried me. We stood under the awning of a funeral home, which was pretty funny. But it was that or walk for over half an hour on tree-lined streets.

The Snoopster bummer and your almost finished with summer vacation.Think of it this way. 25-years-ago I stepped my my sons cowboy boot and I did not know where in my way as I was getting ready to answer phone. I sprang my right ankle, believe this your broken leg will heal way faster 3 weeks while a sprang takes longer for the muscles to heal. Make sure your cast does not get wet.
