Really miss those packed childhood summers. Aimless adventures in the mysterious landscapes of our backyard, digging roads in the dirt, making up games with whatever we had in hand, running and laughing just because, catching fireflies against a star lit sky in the fading heat of late evening in the serenade of crickets. Wouldnât it be great to just step back to one of the momentsâŠjust for a single momentâŠone more experienceâŠ
@Hobbes,Do you become âmuch lighter when other people are aroundâ? You would know better than anyone else; you can weigh the evidence, by the âwayâ!On a scale of 1 to 10, your light humor doesnât fall flat!
@PixieJane,You asked about how that topic came up. Itâs a long story, but you can check back through the last three days comments. Suffice it to say that Night-Gaunt49 made a derogatory comment about the âAbrahamic Religionsâ. I responded, and he/she then found fault with some peopleâs view of sex education. I responded with my comments about condoms in public schools, and on it went.
@CrazyIrishOperaGirl,We have âOne Moment In Timeâ! Itâs one of my favorite songs. Youâre not old enough to remember when it was popular, are you? Can you sing it even though it isnât from an Irish opera?
@Night-Gaunt49,I thought you were male, but I wasnât absolutely certain. I could have used âheâ in the generic sense, but if you were a feminist female, you might have been offended. :o)
The Days will be Packed for the next fortnight at least. The Olympics begin formally today, and the whole worldâs watching.Success to all nations, and remember participating is more important than winning âŠ
After the spanking that Calvin surely must have gotten yesterday morning after the soaking he gave his dad with the water hose as his dad was on his way to work . . . itâs a wonder his little bottom is able to SIT on that branch at all!!!!! ;-)
Good evening all. Calvin one day you will get Suzie and watch out. For the kids on this sight your not the only one takes classes us adults does to.
From my past comment, not sure your interested, here it is I did pass summer class of Keyboarding Begining Document Processing. Instructorâs test missed a few 82% the rest mostly 100%. I received a strong A 97.08%, I will not need Advanced Document Processing. . Now for fall Sociology, my daughter bougth a used book and kept her paper tests. From my past class I keep any test from on-line studies. I have been youtubing videos for learning, in preparation for that class. Also taking Comp II.
Guess you will be going back to school next month. Bummer man. Make sure you have all your pencils, pens, notebook paper, erasers PeeChee folders, etcâŠ
Personally, Iâd LOVE to go back to some of the summers of my youth. Regimentation? Tell me where youâre going, and be home in time for dinner (or lunch, as or if applicable). I had things expected of me, sure. But my parents always left me room to make my own choices, based on what they had taught me. My life didnât become seriously regimented before the Army in 1966 and work after that. Iâm sorry if you had a bad childhood. I just canât relate to it in my own life or those of friends I grew up with.

I envy you. 11- 17 was a great time. Wish my antique legs could do half of what they did back then, when they were carrying 100+ fewer pounds,

I despise summer. But then I have a very low heat tolerance â 25 degrees makes me sweat.

Itâs funny how, even with nothing to do, kids always find stuff to fill the days with.

To Calvin, that would be the ultimate, even if he and Hobbes broke their legs!

@SUSAN NEWMAN: The branch is less likely to break when Susie is underneath. Hobbes becomes much lighter when other people are around.
