I’ve had doubts about Gus, which I would be glad to let go. Whatever happens with the boat sale, I’d love to learn that he is genuinely good-hearted. ( Perhaps that’s already been established, and I missed those story arcs?)

Beware of crossing state lines and owing back taxes on a boat.

A boat is a big hole in the water you have to keep throwing money into to prevent being swamped.

“This has always been my DREAM!!!!” But sometimes, dreams are better left as dreams rather than a reality that turns into a nightmare. Now, Arlo is going to have to find another fantasy to take his mini-mental-vacations. Either way he turns, his daydreams of sailing have been altered.

I call it the “Millennium Falcon.” Won it from a guy named Lando in a poker game.

If ONE MORE person says “a boat is a hole in the water” I’m going to have a fit.

The next one is the happiest days are the day you buy the boat and the day you sell it.

Everyone is entitled to a opinion, but there are a lot of suspicious people here..Sounds like Gus has something that isn’t important to him and just wants to get it off his plate.

Worse than my wife who doesn’t like the kayak “because it is too close to the water.”

If a boat is too big to put on a trailer and tow behind your personal vehicle, you’re gonna have to pay someone else for the maintenance. My parents had 30-40 foot sailboats and powerboats for 30 years and I can tell you that maintenance ain’t cheap. Run Arlo, run!

A boat is not a hole in the water which you pour money into. My family has owned boats for longer than I have been alive (which is a long time). We were not rich by any means and my dad took care of it. My Il’s also owned boat and they did not pay a fortune to take care of their boat either. Also, if it’s something you love and want then it does not matter. People “throw” money away all the time on things they want. Video games, cars, trips, etc. To each his own.

To those that are questioning Gus, my dad is this way. He is the most generous soul I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. He has given away cars to people that needed them more, given them a place to stay when they had no where to go. My dad owned his own business and his employees loved him because they knew they could count on him. In this day and age we are all far to cynical. He loves his daughter, wants to see her happy. Gene makes her happy and his parents are awesome people. Get a grip and a life.

Something isn’t quite kosher here. I think reality and common sense are poking Arlo in the back.

Iced Tea has it right. A&J has always been an exercise of minimalism and I can’t see JJ departing from this formula at this late date.
