Remember the “Doonesbury” Sunday comic that got censored in a lot of papers because it mentioned masturbation? In that issue there were 2 ways of looking at “dating yourself.”
I remeber when I first started driving a decade ago, and $20 could fill the whole tank….now, depending on the day I go, that will get me just above the halfway line
I remember, when I was a lad of six or seven, going to the grocery store with my grandmother and great-grandmother. They fill the trunk of aa ’56 Olds 98 with groceries in brown paper bags and spend maybe 6 dollars. Then complain about the prices. God bless ’em and I sure miss ’em.
I’m dating myself good. I recall when an ice cream cone and Mr.Freeze pops were 5 cents. A candy bar was also a nickel. Cars had fins on them and gas was only 30 cents.
Grapes at $0.19 a pounds, Coca-Cola at less than a penny an ounce, rival stations having a price war and buying gasoline at 15 cents a gallon, comic books at 12 cents, or a quarter for a Giant,……….

I remember my uncles farm had electricity. But only two dim lights in the barn. Oil lamps for the house and a player piano for entertainment..

Ah the good old days. I was far to young when gas was .29¢ and all the other low prices. My mom talks about no a/c back then in homes are cars.
