@Nabuquduriuzhur: If you’re referring to abortions (at the risk of opening a can of worms), it’s worse to leave an already-born child in the wilds to die by himself.
For you young folks who don’t recognize him, the salesclerk is Frank Nelson from “The Jack Benny Program.” See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_Nelson_%28actor%29
Some I remember are Chase (Md), Jefferson (Va), Richard Lee (Va), Sam Adams (Ma), John Adams (Ma), Hancock (Ma), Wilson (Pa), Franklin (Pa), Livingston(NY), Lewis (NY), J. Bartlett (NH), Witherspoon (NJ), Rodney (Del), McKean (Del), Hopkins (R.I), R. Sherman (Conn), L. Hall (Ga).Remembered them from studies and the play/movie “1776”. Watch it every Independence Day.
Sadly, that last panel speaks volumes. The proof? Today is Canada Day, the Canadian independence day and a major holiday. Yet many in the U.S. remain oblivious to what is going on right next door, as if it didn’t exist.
So, what’s with the Pep Boys references? If you recall, there was a strip a week or so ago where the Three Stooges were misnamed as Manny, Moe and Jack by someone. Is Jim’s car in the shop or something?
That was the campaign slogan for W. Harrison (war hero of the battle at Tippecanoe) and running mate J. Tyler, who became President upon the death of Harrison.
