    Those dittos will be a big help for the scouts! Now it’s a matter of will the scouts know how to handle them?

    I must say, I was initially a little annoyed when Aaron Marx made the scene, as I was invested in the Endtown cast, and he seemed a distraction from some point well off the map. But it’s easier to accept if I look at it as The Aaron Marx Show, with everyone else as guest stars.In any case, it’s worth staying tuned in to Endtown, for no other reason than it’s impossible to say what’ll happen next.

    So, for all of you that complained about the story not getting around to resolving the issue with the satellite – issue resolved (maybe). This is just a deposit. When Marx leaves, he’s going to want the dittos back.—————————How big are they?

    @Charles King: your loss.

    Marx does seem (stress that word) to provide an easy answer to Endtown’s troubles. But there has to be something else…

    To me, Marx is the definition of TRICKSTER. Loki. Eris. Coyote. Tom Sawyer. Et. al.

    Endtown will not become the Aaron Marx Show, because I have a feeling he’ll suddenly lose interest and flit off somewhere els ooh sparkly thing!

    @Jenner I agree! Which is part of what I think makes Aaron Marx a wonderful & intriguing character.

    And I don’t think he takes away from the rest of the cast – like Linda, he has in fact just become part of the cast (at least until that next sparkly object arrives) and his character has definitely added a twist to where I thought things were headed – always a good thing :)

    Some people are only happy when they have something to complain about. Here we are, 4 years along, and the Endtown universe is still expanding. This is truely an ensemble cast, but it’s easy to forget if you narrow your field of vision. As people have pointed out in the past, this is not the “Al & Gustine Show”, or the “Flask & Prof Mallard Show”, nor even the “Wally & Holly Show”; so I think there’s little chance of it becoming the “Aaron Marx Show”. There are thousands of stories in the underground city (gee that sounds strangely familiar) and in four years time Aaron has only begun to scratch the surface. The potential for storylines is nearly limitless (certainly more than enough to occupy one creative lifetime). Just think of it, we met Al in a ruined grocery store, we met Wally trapped on a brickpile, who knows (besides Aaron of course) who might be around the next corner? The story may not always move in the direction we might prefer at the moment, but (if the last 4 years are any indication) it will be a story well worth watching.;-)

    I view Marx as a parallel to the superbeing Q from ST-TNG: An interesting character and very entertaining in small doses, but not a main character. After all, no one wants to eat dessert as a main course, do they?

    Some folks just want a little attention, so they have to let everyone know. Instead of just drifting away, They feel they have to make a production of it. One thing is for certain, as we’ve already seen here, once infected by Endtown, it’s hard to get out of your system. I suspect those who leave so publicly will find a way to come sneaking back.

    @TSOJ, yes I read the comments several times starting at 1:13am local time when the comics are dumped from GoGomics. I don’t normally comment, wanting to give the regular commenters the first opportunity to weigh in. Nothing I say seems to affect any of the rest of commenters at all anyway. That I’m used to. I was bothered by the first comment today, but I thought better of saying anything right away. I figured to sleep on it, rather than communicate what I really felt. If I missed something between that first comment and the one I made, I apologize. So now I can go back to being ignored. Sorry to have bothered you. I can enjoy endtown 2.0 without being accepted anyway.

    Yes, please do comment Jalbeck. . . I for one certainly find the more comments, the more interesting the conversation and the better the insight I gain into the strip. As a relative newcomer (as compared to many here and yes, I know, relative is a relative term ;-) ), I’ve never felt the outcast. Most everyone here has always been helpful, respectful and quite outgoing. The few “problems” we’ve had between each other, we’ve managed to talk through to the betterment of all. Don’t think just because you’re comments don’t draw comment that they aren’t noted. I read every comment, almost every day (save weekends, perhaps, and even then I try to catch up later). Personally, I have a small group that I comment to more often than anyone else. A lot of that is time restraint, topics of interest, and who I feel comfortable with. Give it time. The more comments you post, the more folks here will warm up to you. They’re a good group, stick with it.

    I think it’s interesting that Marx seems to offer passive solutions. Instead of offering invisibility to each scout so they can avoid detection by satellites, why not disable the satellites? Or eliminate them? Or disable topsider weaponry entirely? I think that there’s a line of violence Marx won’t cross. For example, I suspect he had something to do with Flask’s weapon mishap…but he left the choice of using the weapon up to Wally and Flask. Maybe I’m reading too much into a “mere comic”, but part of the reason I’m here is because of the character development. I can’t wait to see Flask’s backstory (and I think we will).

    AM gives Mallard the ditto ball and makes himself look good, then says it’s Wally’s idea just in case things don’t work as planned!?! No matter what happens, he keeps his promise not to jepardize Endtown’s survival in any way.

    Yeah, Jalbeck, stick around and say what you want to say. I don’t comment too often here, but Endtowners are usually pretty civil to each other. There’s another strip on GoComics where it’s sometimes open warfare among posters…I’ll still read the strip but it’s not worth wading through the comments below it.
