If that’s a snapper – and judging by the size, I’d say it is – it’s dead. A snapper will bite for any reason, or none at all, and an animal in pain is always, um, testy. at best.
It’s a stuffed something-or-other from a garage sale. It sits on Agnes’ bureau—also grage sale vintage—one drawer for socks and one for everthing else.
Wonder whether this is a vet hot line and what the person on the other end is thinking.
“pair of socks (since that’s the only thing Granny Picklepuss gets Agnes for Christmas).”-The maligned lady gets things for Agnes every day, food, clothing, shelter, care, direction. it may not look like much but it might be more like the Widow’s Mite, all she has. That isn’t stingy.-And just because you and I are rays of sunshine and physical perfection, doesn’t mean the grandmother should be too.-Now, if she’s really a GAZILLIONAIRE and not providing better food, clothing shelter, et cetera, that is another matter. Otherwise, it is enough if it is all she has.
Don’t think Trout will be a Vet when she grows up. Agnes – at some point, might become the nice strange lady who lives down the lane and collects all the hurt animals to heal.
