Calvin is not mentally ill nor in need of drugs. He simply has a set of priorities that others have difficulty appreciating. He may go on to become the Sam Raimi of his generation.
A lot of guys who live in another dimension like Calvin grow up and invent something that makes them very rich. I met some at my 50 year high school reunion. Sadly, I wans’t one of them.
This is a repeat arc from Nov 12, 1992 which you can find on this site if you want to know who is writing the letters. As you can tell I read the last page of a book before reading the first… zero patients.
It’s really sad how some people can’t get over the election results. There’s nothing you can do about it so move on. No one with any sense is going to vote for someone to control their bodies and take away their chance for higher education so that they can’t have a decent career and stay off of government assistance.
In another strip with the principal, the principal said, “I hate this job.” As a teacher, this really cracks me up! Kids are so sweet and full of surprises for you!
My parents had my hearing checked because I simply chose not to respond to them when I was doing something that I deemed more important….like drawing. Glad they didn’t have the litany of drugs and conditions to diagnose back in the day, at least in my case….
INFPs like Calvin get lost in the possibilities (as today) and may not even notice what is going on beyond. them. Unfortunately, this does not make for a good spy, even though in their imagination, they are just brilliant!
Somehow I cannot help but think of Ralphie in “A Christmas Story.” He was so excited about decoding the Little Orphan Annie message only to be disappointed with the message: “Drink your Ovaltine.” LOL
I was sent to the principal’s office in grade school many times to be paddled. I was a little like Calvin (without the tiger). When you live in your own little world people tend to misunderstand you.

Looks like he grew up to be an Obama voter.
gorbag about 12 years ago
@Red_Fez: Obama voters never grow up. They want a nanny state to infantalize them in perpetuity.

I see the sad ones have brought politics to an otherwise pleasant board.

I’m always like that in class. And no, I don’t have Asperger’s.

What is Mrs. Wormwood saying? The same thing Charlie Brown’s teacher use to say: “Wah-wah-wah-wa-waahhh.”

If you received a secret message, wouldn’t it keep your attention. And if you happen to be six I understand how it could take all of your attention.

Asperger’s nothing… Calvin’s a little narcissist! But I love him anyway… always have!

You mean you’ve never heard of Sam Raimi? Think Evil Dead, Darkman, Army Of Darkness, Spiderman 1, 2 & 3, Hercules and Xena.
