I told them that was stupid and they should have told him so. He must have had a powerful personality. They leaned back as if afraid the lightning bolt destined to strike me might get them too.
(I had worked with him before he left but not closely and was never intimidated by him. If ever tempted, I remember having three AK-47s in the hands of three scared Angolan soldiers pointed at me. I calmed them down, thanked them for explaining I was in a prohibited military zone, and left alive.)

That’s OK. At least his spleen will grow back. Dr. Mel lost his sanity years ago, and it hasn’t grown back yet.
