I like it better when Nate’s at Galvin’s mercy, which is most times (e.g. last Sunday’s strip), but this time that didn’t happen. Worth it, though, to get a binder clip thrown into this mix. Galvin seems the sort who’d use a large paper-clip as a tie-tack, with fitting dweebish aplomb. Mirth. MIRTH!!
The strange thing is, there ARE people out there that make a living this way. They are very popular with perfume manufacturers, chemical manufacturers, restaurant/ food designers, and many other fields that depend on good smells for their business. It’s a very odd job – but there are people doing it.
OH MY GOD!!!!!!Is it my imagination, or did Mr. Galvin just laugh/smile????????????????????????????????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
1. Earlier, we learned that there was a rule against betting in P.S. 38, when Gina bet Nate he couldn’t go a week without detention and got in trouble herself, (with Nate getting away Scot free) with Mrs. Godfrey, because betting was not allowed.
2. It’s Sunday, does that not signify the absence of school? I know Peirce sometimes does this, but still, the cartoonist has to stay somewhat in touch with the real world, does he not?
Overall, though, I enjoyed this strip, and felt overly satisfied with the results. :D
Ok, I believe Nate, but if I were Mr. Galvin, I’d be a little suspicious that Nate is like cheating and looking through the blindfold. I don’t think Nate did that, but I’m just saying!

I’m guessing next sunday’s comic strip will also be about nate’s keen sense of smell.

Pity there’s no living for such a skill. I foresee a bleak future for poor Nate.

Agreed. A sensitive and discerning sniffer can be a prized commodity for buyers or graders of all sorts of food and beverage products.

Nate can get a job as a super sniffer.

Isnt betting prohibited from school? On the strips where gina and nate were betting, mrs. Godfrey ended it.

I have but two problems with this strip.

No, his nose is always like that. Maybe he was just like Francis and Gina as a child and all the brown nosing took a toll on him physically.
P. S. You’re right! They should indeed try that.

I thought gambling wasn’t allowed in Nate’s school. Mr. Galvin should be fired for that.
