All through elementary school, I got the size of crayons that my family could afford, and felt like I was missing out on something wonderful when I saw that some kids had the big box. Now, my granddaughter’s school tells the parents to bring only a 24-pack, and all of the crayons go into a common supply bin, so everyone gets the same.
The crayola boxes I had in the 60’s had a ‘sharpener’ in the side. It sharpened like crap. I don’t think a lawsuit is the answer as it would most likely be laughed out of court, the jurors sticking their pinky in the sharpener and rotating the box, proving nothing gets cut. As for my crayons. As soon as I started school I would need a sharpener. I used it to sharpen them.
The smell of crayons is one of the strongest childhood memories I know! We kept ours in a cookie tin…sometimes I would just stick my face in and take a deep breath. Somebody needs to make an aromatherapy candle that smells like Crayola!!!

I can’t cope. They’re NOT in a ‘perfect array of hues’.
