I went to my grandson’s soccer game. 8 fields, it’s a big complex. Outdoor theater and all kinds of stuff. My daughter in law asked me if I liked the new complex. Well, it is very nice but I liked it better when I used to hunt dove here. It was 100’2 of acres of pasture and grove and woods.
I worked at a chicken farm in college but it was shutdown by the county because the neighbors complained about the smell. The farm was there for decades before the neighborhoods but the neighborhoods had a higher tax base so the politicians sided with them.
Time for Granny to dust off the old joke and tell the kids: “When it was a chicken farm and I visited, I dropped my chewing gum out of my mouth…and thought I found it 3 times!”

Grandma, get ready for some musical entertainment that may just well duplicate that distant memory, or hopefully, … maybe not.

Better a chicken farm than a hog farm.

When I was in elementary school, we had a class trip to a turkey farm. And WHOO-EE did it smell!

The art work of the final panel, contrasting the young and old is superb

There was once a mink ranch down the road, but the chicken farmers complained about the stench.

The older I get, the more I can relate to grandma. Should I be worried?

Alice and Granny together (panel 3) is one thought-provoking image. Will Alice grow up to be like her Granny?
And no, Alice, you cannot go on the swings dressed in your party dress!
