As Cosmic Cowboy implied above, an afterlife is a fairy tale for children who are: a) afraid of death and b) prone to be more righteous with the threat of a heII and the promise of that other fictional place.
I think the afterlife is whatever you personally think it will be – and whatever that is exists only in your mind in the brain’s last few nanoseconds of life.
Marcus Cole: I used to think it was awful that life was so unfair. Then I thought, ’wouldn’t it be much worse if life were fair, and all the terrible things that happen to us come because we actually deserve them?’ So now I take great comfort in the general hostility and unfairness of the universe. I believe that there is a God and, therefore, Heaven exists as well.
Any time I hear someone say that there is no God or Heaven, I think to myself, “Well, when we die, we’ll find out who was right, correct?”.

“I would rather live my life as if there is a God and die to find out there isn’t, than live my life as if there isn’t and die to find out there is.”
― Albert Camus
