You should have seen that coming. You really should think these things through more carefully. Or as they say, “Put brain in gear before opening mouth.”

Just because someone says they’re doing something “just because” doesn’t mean they’re doing it “just because”.

Just because you suspect there’s an ulterior motive to something nice someone else does for/to you, doesn’t mean you should tell them that. Sometimes you should just say “Thank you.” and hope for the best.
