Philharmonic fiddle section! Admirable alliteration, aye?

Am I the only one who thinks the exterior of the concert hall looks strangely shrunken, as if it’s now the size of a 7-11?

A bit like the circus tent. Remember how the size and shape changed? And how about the tiger’s cage? One day it was barely tall enough for the tiger… and then it grew to 80’ high! And was strong enough for Della Contessa, Tracy, and Ennen to stand on… and later Fee Fi. Ya’ gotta love this strip!

Long live the pig on wheels!

What’s this got to do with Macy? Selling his old man’s fiddle isn’t a crime worthy of Naperville’s best! It isn’t even a crime. Stealing it may be if charges are filed. Junior ought to have swapped it for a steel guitar and impressed his dad. Then he could go off on a gig, “I’ve got a tiger by the tail; it’s plain to see….” , and get one of those wire harmonica holders to hang on his neck.

The middle panel is just a close up of the already thrice used concert hall panel. Anyone could do this on a scanner. Not really a new panel at all.

Oh, right! It’s the concert hall exterior. I thought for a minute that it was a talking kitchen.

Wait, wait, wait… He inherited his dad’s (supposedly) fantastic musical talent, but is not willing to spend a year or two in the minors developing it. So instead he stole the Strad from dad and sold it at an 80% discount. Now he comes back home to dad, fake Strad in hand? For what reason? Why didn’t he just hop the first plane for Cozumel? Maybe there’s more. Maybe there’s more. Maybe…

A guitar, a wire harmonica rack, a bus ticket to Nashville … he could even get himself a rhinestone-studded cowboy shirt for less than $2,000,000. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=atHY8rDBhtI

Obviously, Locher knows zip about classical music and how an orchestra is organized and/or conducted. I have now been thoroughly disgusted with an inane story line. So long, Locher!

morrow. Wait until Sunday (late night) when the urgent call to “come”, buzzes on the Wrist Geenee. Makes one think Tracy is back as an ordinary Patrolman again, expected to respond to a simple - “domestic violence” case.

Locher had to move a week later to patch up the blunder

Never has an Author blundered, fumbled or stumbled in Dick Tracy as the present one does. He’s a “serial” offender.

So dad owns the orchestra, the way the ringleader owned the circus? This is like crime from a five-year old’s perspective.

Flight Suit, Glad you brought up the “design” factor of the Synphony Hall. Building depictions have been a disgrace ever since Jack’s Casino first appeared (3-05-09) with those steep unnaturallly high steps on a carelessly drawn structure that had one end pushing into nowhere.

The current one looks like Brozman’s son had been playing with his Mecano toy set, and then the Hall “design” for the strip was “born”. It’s grossly unnatural and a big artistic “come down” for Dick Tracy strips.

If, they’re all Brozman’s work it seems a poor reflection on the art training he got at the Nothern Illinois University

Maybe Tracy should be busted back to Patrolman. He hasn’t done any detecting for quite a while. What good is a detective who couldn’t detect his way out of a paper bag if it was open at both ends?

Idarke has an idea there. If this comic strip were written by a five-year-old, I would think it was good. I would pat him on his little head and tell him, “Someday you’ll be a syndicated cartoonist.”

Some years ago Dick Locher revealed in an Interview that several Asian/Chinese papers had picked the Dick Tracy strip

This little ditsy came to hand recently …

Just like those fake watches in NY they have copy detectives too. So, in this tale a Chinese detective named “Dick Tracee” was hired by a man who suspected his wife was cheating on him

    Here is his report :

“You leave house. I watch house. He come home, I watch ! He and she leave house. I follow. He and she go to Hotel. I climb tree outside Hotel. I look through window to see. He kiss she, She kiss he. He play with she, she play with he. I play with me. I fall of tree. I no see … So sorry !

    No Fee, Dick Tracee

The “real” Dick Tracy was seen to climb a tree only once in the strip. This was on July 28,1972 in a story on the kidnapping of Peanutbutter by the “3 Saboteurs”.
