Where are the guests? The ambassador looks like a falling statue. Is that a wooden soldier I see? Tracy’s beginning to panic! This whole thing is beginning to look like a comic strip!

It could of been worse. The ambassador could of been blown away.

the irony here is that the new, passive, ineffectual Dick Tracy is most likely shrieking “GET OUT OF MY WAY!” in exactly the high C necessary to detonate the violin bomb.

The circus story took months for nothing to happen. This story is taking months for nothing to make sense. The whole conflict between dad and son really has nothing to do with the assassination plot, it just fills up panels pointlessly. If Gould, or Collins, were still writing, we would have some idea of why the villains want to kill the ambassador. This is just a bunch of throwaway plot devices that add up to a throwaway comic strip.

This is bad!!! Really BAD:

Wow the art suddenly got so much better.

This storyline is not bad. And the artwork is improved.

How do Dick have ANY idea what the heck is going on with the strad? Someone please enlighten me.

I LOVED Quick Draw and El Kabong as well as his little buddy BaBa Looey.

The person that Dick is running past with his arms up is defying gravity. Look at his feet. He just about to fall on hi arse.

To describe the “quality” of today’s ART, I think we may best diplomatically use a “cedilla” here (i.e. a mark below the “C” so it’s pronounced like an “S” - and borrow the right word from One Eye Jack’s Casino …

A ‘Dick Tracing’ would be of only one part of the detective and would I suspect be visible only under a microscope.

I dunno, Mr. Phillips, I kinda like the look in panel 3.

So, Detective Tracy, is that what you learned in Detective School? When you get a hunch you should go into a panic, knock people down, yell at them to get out of your way? Is that the way you want to teach the little boys who follow your adventures to behave?

His feet were beating a rapid tattoo His voice was sobbing, oh boo hoo As he ran across the embassy floor Hoping to make it through the door What could be the reason for his haste Was it a need to eliminate waste What his motive was he would not say He just kept shouting “out of my way” The palace guard was solid as granite He saw no reason for the panic Tracy it seems was a man of action The ambassador would be in need of traction Desperation etched on his face Tracy looked like a basket case Tess looked on in disbelief As Tracy sought to find relief For the bomb that was in his hand He’s lucky it wasn’t a Baby Grand What will happen to our plucky hero Will he bomb and become a zero Or will he triumph and save the day Earning from all a big hooray.

nightkawks, .Perhaps because Gweedo used the the plural instead of the more customaty singular form. Most of the time it’s a “computer program” that does the work on specifically chosen words.

It gets “over-reaching” and silly sometimes. e.g.If I use the well known Biblical phrasing of :

“Balem tied is bleeep to a tree and walked 40 miles into Jerusulem”

You’ll note that my “other” word for Donkey has become a “bleeep” !

On the other hand, by simply putting a “full stop” in front of your word … Presto! - you bypbleeep the computer ! e.g.”Balem tied his .bleeep to a tree and walked … etc (another test - “a bunch of bleeepes”)

Of course, the manual ones could get to you if you’re flagged or spotted and deemed too offensive

OH MY **! I guess they have “tidied up” that loophole, But you could always try h-y-p-h-e-n-a-t-i-n-g OR misspelling the word and see what happens. Sorry !

Today I smiled … a small “whiff” of what was once a regular, appreciated humerous “rewrite” of the weeks events.

It’s still needed, still wanted AND we ALL insist, we want it !

Oh, come on now, Bob. I hardly ever get any recognition or response to any of my posts. Especially since MPH disappeared. And his responses were far from complimentary. I post occasionally when I can not believe what I am reading in the strip. And my best is not in any league near your weakest.
