HectorPriam said, about 7 hours ago … Hot Rize is a girl??She is also a pistol packen killer. She may die by a gun shot too, but I hope that she just ends up in jail.
margueritem noavatar said, about 8 hours agoHot Rize is one cute little villianess. I agree, but her “uh-oh” face tells us that she is in a mess. I wonder if she will do a shoot-em-up with Sam & Dick?
I have a question that has never been answered. How did Gertie know that her flour was cocain? I also don’t remember her telling Tracy about them coming back and exchanging the bags of flour.
In the Sunday, May 15, Chicago Tribune comics, Officer Doherty appeared to be African-American. In the GoComics version from that day, maybe. Today, not much. Thoughts?
Good question, woodworker318! And how did Junior come to that conclusion? Seemingly, he told Gert. Secondly, if Aunt Marg thinks Hot Rize is hot, she’s seein’ something I’m not. Maybe I need to borrow her x-ray glasses. But then, I’d spot the hogleg she’s totin’ and that detracts from my hot rise. Pretty much squashes it!
Gertie knew it was cocaine because back in the day she was a roadie. In the song COVER OF THE ROLLING STONE she is referenced in the line I GOT A FREAKLY OLD LADY NAME OF COCAINE KATIE
I just found this site. I’m thrilled to find my favorite comic in the hands of such a capable and talented creative team.Been a DT fan since the 50’s Harvey reprints. This strip reminds me of Chester Gould during his best years.Tracy’s profile, trench coat and hat, Sam’s easy going grin while on the job, the use of shadows in the art, a bit of humor – it’s all there, plus a modern story with just enough “retro” to satisfy us “classic” fans. Nice Job! Keep up the good work.Woodworker 318: Junior spotted it while visiting her. She told Tracy last Sunday in panel 5 about the exchange.

Shouldn’t Dick and Sam have gone to Hot Rize right away? As it stands, she could destroy any evidence in her office, or make a break for it.

From the look on Mugg’s face, he’s already sampled some dog buiscuits made with the secret ingredient!
Wonder is Ms. Biscuit is in on it? Considering the scale of the operation, she’d have to be “Thick #2” not to know.

Let’s hope whatever she is, she isn’t idiot enough to fire a gun inside a flour mill. One Washburn ‘A’ Mill is enough.

@woodworker318: Gertie told Junior about the bags of flour being exchanged in the May 11 strip, and she also told Dick that in the May 22 strip.
