Bronson evidently forgot about a “citizen’s arrest”.

Guessing that the Funky sequence at the comic auction takes place after the bank robbery?

Or does it occur between Tuesday and Wednesday’s Dick Tracy strips?

Mr. Canyon doesn’t need to worry about dye canisters, because Tracy has caught him “red-handed” (in a metaphorical sense, at least).

I live close to Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, but on the Quebec side of the river. Police jurisdiction around here can be a bit complicated. For example, the City of Ottawa polices local roads, but the Ontario Provincial Police have jurisdiction on provincial highways. There are also a few roads under the National Capital Commission, which is a federal Crown corporation. Those are patrolled by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. On the Quebec side there is also a city police force and a provincial police force.

Some police on the Ontario side are appointed “special constables” on the Quebec side, which makes it easier for them to escort dignitaries because they can them use either side of the river to avoid crowds. I wonder if Tracy has some kind of (temporary?) appointment in Ohio as well, in conjunction with his comic auction activity. I’m not sure if he’s actually working the comic auction (quite plausible that they’d need protection) or just visiting for personal interest.

I wonder if Bronson Canyon is related to Steve Canyon. Given all the crossovers we’ve seen (and I’ve enjoyed) in Dick Tracy lately, that seems like a definite possibility to me.

    Morning, Tracyville!

The Funky story has nothing to do with the Tracy story. I wonder if the two stories are going to merge somewhere down the road.

Bronson Canyon is an idiot.. if it were ME and tracy snuck up behind me i’d either fire a few shots at him to make him dodge and then take whatever advantage i had to get outta dodge… OOOOOORRRRRR i woulda fired at tracy then leapt over the counter and took the teller hostage.

this idiot needs to be arrested just for being so stupid

oh and good morning VB.. which now stands for VAMPIRE BILL i guess? ;) lol

tsull, your comment makes me think of a few lines by John Wayne in “The Shootist” when he basically says part of what makes a gunfighter successful (and keeps him alive) is having the nerve to draw and fire on another man with no hesitation. Wayne’s character says most men will pause, take a breath, etc., but “I won’t.”

Perhaps for Canyon, the gun is a necessary prop for use in the robbery, but when the decision had to be made to draw on a lawman (especially one whose reputation obviously preceeds him), Canyon wisely didn’t draw his weapon

It must be me this morning, but after studying the artwork for an hour, I can’t find anything out of place or moved! I did notice that the cameraman changed his position, but the angle of triaxial rotation adjusted proportionately. We’ll find out shortly.

@avenger09:I also thought that even though there’s no bank in NY that I know about that doubles as a car dealership or garage it might be possible they do exist in a hick town like Westview!Oh, come on now! Surely even you can see that is the drive-up window as viewed from inside the bank, and the car is being seen through the glass. Remember, Tracy saw a car going in the drive thru lane wrong way, which is what tipped him off that something was amiss at the bank.

Heck, he could make a citizen’s arrest……anyways, never a good idea to talk trash to someone pointing a gun at you, lol. Although……seeing the guy was in the middle of an armed robbery, Tracy’s sure being casual about it…I’d expect a “drop your gun, etc” command…Dick’s attitude is WHY he’s not being taken seriously enough, I’m afraid…

I think Alberto VO5 is still sold in both the U.S. and in Canada, but I remember commercials for Alberto Balsam, so I think it was in Canada, but I’m not sure if it still is.

    Jeepers! Neat “Annie” commercial!

Bronson Canyon is obviously a petty thief; taking on Tracy is way above his range. He’s lucky Tracy hasn’t shot him (yet), since he’s still holding a gun himself….

Found this in my email a few minutes ago and i thought it was fitting for the current (lack of) storyline

A man walks in a bank, pulls out a gun, and robs the bank… Then he turns around and asks the next customer in line, “Did you see me rob this bank?” The customer replies, “YES!” The robber raises his gun, points to his head and BANG!!!!!… shoots him in the head and kills him! He then moves to the next customer in line and says to the man, “DID … YOU … SEE … ME … ROB THIS BANK????” The man calmly responds, “No … But My Wife Did!”
