Tracy wondered if Stiletta knew, that she left behind a clueThat made it easy to know for sure, who created all this gore.A knife that brought a chill to him, one so close to his pointy chinMeanwhile Sam was totally confused, why Blowtop would be abusedBy someone who was kin to him, was it planned or on a whim?Tracy hoped it wouldn’t be long , till Blowtop sang a reveling songUntil then they would heed the book, continuing to take a long hard look!

    .

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!

    LOL!!!

Speaking of Dick Tracy III, bet Warren Beatty wishes he’d gotten to make a few sequels.

Good morning all!If Stiletta didn’t want to involve Blowtop she could have kept her mouth shut in the first place. What happened to " what you don’ t know won’t harm you?"

I enjoy Rikki, Morrow. She might be the police officer that DT was talking to yesterday. That her uniform did not fit might have been a telltale sign.

Scene change tomorrow, I bet … But to where?

    Kandi & Vitamin?

    Stiletta & The Nitrates?

    A.A. Stone & Gravel Gertie?

    Junior, Sparkle, Honeymoon & Trey

    B.O. & Attitude?

(Some of these would make for decent band names!)

Possibly the hospital, with a combination of the above?

    Or The MCU.

Have we seen Glance Magazine before in this strip? I have I feeling that we have. It seems to me to be a parody of Look magazine, which stopped publishing in 1971.

Well, no ‘pussy-footing’ around this AM. Had there was any doubt yesterday, about the ‘suspect’ . . . that Dagger says it all !

And we’ll all have varied ‘opinions’ on Mrs. F’s intentions. But I’d like to think her reasoning was not to necessarily kill him (that would’ve been easy), but rather, leave him with a severe message for NEXT time . . .Which likely, BLENDS ‘right in’, wIth what the Author wants, and I’d ‘suspect’ that’s to keep all the remaining “better characters, and similar new creations” ALIVE - for ‘potential’ future returns ! ?

And I’d further ‘guess’, that in step with that reasoning, that Doubleup and Mrs Flattop currently rank #1 and #2, on the No Hit - Parade !

Make a list of the SURVIVORS of the Big Shoot-out from that (new) Mr. Crime saga, and another list of those that DIED, and they’ll seem perfectly rational indicators of who is appreciated and those of ‘low currency’ value who can therefore get the boot ! Recalling all that considerable gunfire and smoke, it’s really rather “amazing” that only one person died (Poor Davey, and likely by Tess?) Others ? Teevo by Vine and Panda by Barracuda. Wounded? Just 5,(Tracy, Lizz and three rogues)

It fits the unwritten criteria first established by Max Collins and later intensified by Kilian / Locher !. Indeed, ‘instructive’, that latter gave us Pig E. Bank - who appeared 7 times in 10 years, and on the last occasion - made history, by running away naked (Sun. 8-29-04). He’s still free ! A visual departure that makes one pause and think, some of us might even enjoy a Rikki escape - under similar conditions ? And in “knowing” she’ll always be Free. Most will stand together with Vista B and ‘applaud’ her all the way.Such a day might have a ‘break through’ to top 300 posts ?

But more seriously, there’s hardly any reason to ‘think’ our new Captain has changed direction or course ? For this, is Mrs. F’s – 2nd time round, and Doubleup has already been around the track 3 times, and is currently ‘poised’ (along with ‘B-B Eyes*) for their 4th lap in the *Blackhearts - (upcoming) confrontation this Summer ! ?

Mind you, I’m not ‘complaining’ ! Only “observing” that those ‘trains* with wheels will soon begin to run out of steam ! The exception that ’proved the rule’ being Sweatbox - ‘Great Creation’, and his “D” day came via a train crash. Oddly, leaving no ‘wiggle’ room available.Mayor Armstrong - clearly noting, that her ‘good friend’ Simon was dead !

GLANCE Magazine . . .As I recall, that had been a magazine in the strip appearing back in 1947. One Mr. Clark had been the publisher..They seem to have lept out of obscurity with the publishing of pictures of new Baby *- Sparkle Plenty !*A photographer, one Eddie Johnson, apparently worked on that job.Good of the Authors to “re-light” that candle again !

Well, I certainly hope you do “keep looking,” Detective Tracy, because it would be a fearsome blow to your reputation if do not notice the blatantly obvious clue right under your nose and highlighted in panel 3, that Glance Magazine cover story and photo! It should not be too difficult for an astute detective to deduce that Stiletta is plotting in some way against the baby as a means of getting at you, her mortal enemy!

Bit of a small coincidence coming with today’s Dick Tracy strip. With that ‘appearance’ of a framed picture of the original Flattop !

Today, Feb. 17th is my brothers Birthday !

And as Kids reading a newly discovered comic strip, Flattop easily proved to be HIS “favorite” Villain, as back then we would frequently compare the uniqueness of the Rogues that would regularly emerge, from Chet Gould’s ‘creative’ mind.. Young and excited, we couldn’t WAIT to see what his next one would look like !

Sadly, my brother was one of those, who chose to cease reading the strip, when Gould retired

.Brother Peter has been living in Claremont, Ontario, just outside of Toronto, Canada, for the past 20 years. Thought today, with Mrs. Flattop on stage and that ‘coincidence’ (his one time favorite Gould villain) Flattop appearing in panel 2 . . .I’d try, rekindle his childhood “memories”. and the excitement we both felt back then - I’ve sent him a copy of today’s strip !

    Thanks, Mike and Joe!

Dick’s dream has always been to be a one eyed pirate! ARRGGGG, Shiver me timbers! The angle in panel 3 is really bad. The effect is to make it look like Stiletta sliced Dick in half!

Thank you everyone who complimented my silly poem and thank you Morrow for retracting you mean-spirited comment! LOL! Listen, I’m probably the least talented person in Tracyville but I honestly don’t think a poem like today’s is that hard or that big of a deal. Now the idea of composing a poem that recaps the previous day or weeks ”action” AND posting it in a matter of seconds is truly an amazing feat. Having a whole hour to do the same thing tremendously diminishes the feat in my opinion. The last I heard freedom of opinion was still alive and well in Tracyville so feel free to disagree with me but don’t hate!! .S.I.T.O.A.P.L.O.T.N.M.I.

Glance magazine is really long lived…almost seventy years! It was born in 1947, same year of Sparkle, mother of Trey!

The Glance Magazine cover story is likely how Stiletta discovered the birth of the baby answering questions posted several days ago. However the birth event was also certainly covered by all of the various media outlets in Tracy’s city. After all, this is the grandson of a reknown detective and the son of a world-famous singing star (and former child star). The event would naturally merit mention in the news.

Glance Magazine may have a double reason for wanting to post the baby’s photo on the cover. When Sparkle was born Glance paid B.O. Plenty $25,000 for the rights to post her photo on the cover. The fact that both the mother and the child have both appeared on the cover of Glance is a story within itself.

The question is why does he still retain rights to it? Who knows how many projects died because of him?

It seems to be because it’s a “vanity project” for him. He wants to be Dick Tracy, and he’s hoping to be Tracy again in another film.
