MOST importantly: Hope you are OK with this terrible weather, Vista Bill! My sister is in Virginia, near D.C., so I’m concerned about her, as well.Secondary: Are Specs & Spicy THAT dumb? Or is this a trick to make the 52’s/Apparatus just think that they are going to Cuba?

John L. won’t be very pleased if/when “The Apparatus” traces the money trail back to him. :(

Oh, yeah. Spicy is the classic example of the crook who thinks they’re smarter than everyone else in the world.Prisons (and graveyards) are full of them.-I’m still betting that Specs has Lunarian eyes under high-tech Ray-Bans. Moon Valley may be deserted, but we’ll finally have confirmed that some of them came to Earth.

My questions of yesterday are (conveniently) all answered in panel 2: Specs has been to Cuba and knows Havana well, and both he and Spicy speak Spanish. So that aspect of their getaway will be okay. But they do seem to playing fast and loose with “Little Notting” (and with John L.); what’s that all about?Getaways from the big gang by small-fry rarely go well in film or story….

To all those having to deal with the storm – my prayers are with you!

Couple days ago I suggested “that nice couple upstairs — he owns a nightclub and she’s trying to get into show biz” might help them get to Cuba. Since then I’ve come to think Specs looks a good deal like him and Spicy sorta looks like her. Will she have some ‘splainin’ to do? (Also, I think musician John looks like another John named Candy.)

Well, story flow - does seem (unnecessarily?) ‘bogged down’ (3 days now) - in John’s office ?

Would have kept the ‘eyes open’ - if we’d seen more panels with Queenie.‘She’ reminded me that the Playboy Mansion was up for sale !

It’s that the kind of “Garbage” that can keep one “awake” … rather than “lingering” (in this ‘mini void’ of pacing) . . . and finding yourself ‘easing’ delay, by speculating (over panel 1) … (Idiotically perhaps?;-) If Specs, is curiously peeping ‘deeper’ and into John’s Brains - to see what makes him ‘tick’ ?

Great way to leave a trail, Spicy.

Okay, so Specs and Spicy are auditioning for Dumb and Dumber. First the garbage truck escape (escapade?) where they were lucky that they weren’t compacted, and now, this!.That address had better be in the middle of Lake Michigan, or someone from the Apparatus will be waiting for them in Cuba!.Where’s Flaky Biscuits when you need him?.(Yeah, I know Li’l Abner knocked him off in one of the very few “hits” he was successful at. But I still love the name – we all could use some Flaky Biscuits about now!)

When I read “John L.,” I think John L. Sullivan …

… but there’s pretty much no resemblance.

One of “The Three Detectives” is Russian, the other had adventures in Cuba, if I recall.

Might Specs and Spicy end up searching for “The Amber Room” after all?

Good morning, all! I hope everyone in the path of the winter storm stays safe and warm. So far, just a light dusting of snow here in Northeast Georgia.

Well won’t be too long in Cuba before the Apparatus finds them. Pretty silly of Spicy to do that.

Oy, Spicy, ever heard of “paper trail?”

I’ll tend to the agree with the majority of the posters: you can’t shake off the Apparatus THAT easily, Spicy.

And to the posters being slammed by the blizzard: stay warm and take care out there.

It occurs to me “the nice couple upstairs” who might help them get to Cuba could be Lucy and Desi—he owns a nightclub and she wants to get into show biz!

I had trouble with my Interconnection but I finally fixed it and all is working well. I caught up with my strips. A few comments: I agree with many who posted that Spicy is courting trouble by indicating where they are going. The apparatus will want those glasses back and will go through whatever it takes to get them. It also puts John L in jeopardy if his name is on the booking. So, this is not smart at all. Another thing that doesn’t make sense is why Tracy went off to meet with those detectives when he has several major crimes at home that require his attention more.

A few more ideas: I mentioned in a previous story that I thought the lunar people may be at some remote location on Earth. My theory is that lunar and earth people are related in some way which is why they could interbreed. Also, it makes more sense that they would be at a cold location since their body temperatures are lower. Cuba would be too hot for them. I don’t think Specs or Spicy are lunar people.

.**So far, no power outage. Not even a flickering of the lights, thank heavens. All is ok but it is still snowing with gusting wind. So far, about two feet with 8" more to follow..

I’m not clear on what a “super villain” is.

I don’t think there has ever been a villain in Dick Tracy with superhuman powers, if that’s what you meant.

The moon people have super powers so there were super powered people in the strip. Some would consider the Moon Governor to be a villain in the beginning. Then there was Putty Puss who had somewhat of a super power to alter his face. Since Annie has entered the strip there are now more supernatural beings: Punjab, Great Am, for example. And, of course, Honeymoon and Mysta Chimera have powers. Most of these are not villains but they do have powers.
