@Mike CurtisNow that I can repost, I can tell everyone that the entire Tracy team reads the comments each day. Talk about your instant feedback.
I’m happy to hear that the entire team reads the comments. There are a lot of great comments here. I suppose the feedback isn’t instantly the moment you do your work because of the long lead times, but there is usually feedback within minutes of each strip appearing. It’s nice to know that the communication channels are really open.

Especially glad that Mike is able to comment again. Welcome back, Mike!

a flying device small enough to be pushed around by even the lightest wind.-———————————-Here in the world of fiction, Diet Smith’s crew has overcome that problem.
When Chester Gould introduced the two-way wrist radio in 1946 (much to the consternation of his friends, who thought it was too far-fetched) he made a point of explaining that the device was powered by lithium batteries. Today we see that Diet has progressed to graphite batteries.According to Wikipedia, the first real commercially available lithium batteries were sold in the 70s, so Gould was about 25 years ahead of his time. Wikipedia says that as of 2015, experiments were still on-going for graphite batteries, and that one of the benefits would be recharging in seconds, plus holding power longer. Thus, the Dick Tracy tradition of cutting edge, yet still realistic technology continues today.

I do remember on the old Green Hornet TV show (the one with Van Hefflin and Bruce Lee) the Hornet had a gadget in his car that was very much like the drone shown above. Of course it was a bit larger, but the Green Hornet could launch it from his car and use it to scan the city. It seems to have come to life now.

I like the name Sunbug and I like to have a drone that size. If only Diet will release it to the market….
VB, L0N3 R4NG3R kicked me out so I was hoping I can hop on Comet too.
A surprise weekday poem and that shiny new toy will surely bring me instant joy. Thanks, Pequod.

Very reminiscent of when Chester Gould would introduce fresh technologies into the strip.

If that thing is 3/4 of an inch, imagine how small the motor is. Talk about nano technology!
