I am not surprised that Perenelle has a Ramon to pamper her and cater to her needs..
But I have a suspicion that she will not be on that flight tomorrow evening. Things may blow up at the auction—even DoubleUp, that formidable bodyguard. “Formidable” indeed. Is he not Chekhov’s gun?
btw, doubleup’s shadow is incorrect… for it to be cast in THAT way he would need to be standing full facing the light source so that the full shape of his head (including his little ‘hair horns’) would throw that shadow.
the way he is standing, however, should cast a profile shadow… also, the hint of shading over his right shoulder (our left side) should not be there if the light source were to cast a shadow like the one in this panel.
I’m surprised this has, so far, eluded our “panel screeners”, and I am ALSO surprised that JOE didn’t catch it whilst creating the image
I realize it’s cartoon art, but the number of windows depicted indicates a fairly small aircraft. That being said, the elastic limit of ‘artistic license’ is being tested. ;-)

I got the impression, even from the interior views, that it was a fairly small airplane. Not all commercial flights are jumbo jets.
Thanks to everyone who took the time to read my poem today. I suppose the connection within it I was trying to bring out went UNDER everyone’s head. LOL!
Ouch! Wow Neil, being brutally honest, aren’t we? LOL!My failed attempt to connect some dots was to include 4 entertainers who shared a common birthday, today.
Av, you did a good job, as usual. I heard that the East Coast had an internet blackout. Did it perhaps have anything to do with that fiber optic line running under SDM’s overpass and his trying to install a switch to collect internet rent? Hmmmm?

Poor Ramon, he always felt unwell
Dealing with the mistress,
Just to be rich like Zero Mostel
Of course it could be worse
He could date a man with a purse
Like Charles Durning on that day of show and tell
He hoped to sail away
On a boat of love one day
Who’s captain Gavin MacLeod could play
Until that day arrived
He’ll keep dancing like a bee near it’s hive
While dancing Tommy Tune steps to staying alive

ooo…maybe this story won’t be the last we see of Perenelle!

Might Doubleup be double-crossed …?

She’s running away after collecting the money! What if the formula does not work? Perenelle will really need to extend the contract of Doubleup.

I kind of enjoy having Doubleup in the strip. He’s a sort of a likeable villain, in a way.

Good catch lt. Doubleup wanted me to remind you that the first letter in each new sentence should be capitalized!
(Insert snickering)

I’m gonna miss Perenelle when she exits stage left. She’s a hottie.

Yes it is more than a mere shadow, it is a visual metaphor to counter point Perenelle’s compliment of Doubleup.

So the auction will be moving ahead, with one fewer bidder. I just wonder what’s going to happen next.
