Comic art nerd rave: Edison’s pose in panel three mirrors Quiver’s in panel two. Look at the differences-the body language, even how Quiver’s fingers are bonier to match her face. Joe is awesome.
The delectable and comely, and imperturbable, Edison Lightfoot is like a Force of Nature standing by her man (of the moment) and giving him an edge in his battle of the wills with cousin Quiver. Whether she really is running a scam with the “giving” jars or was just being sarcastic, Shaky senses a chance to cash in here, forgetting for now that what he came to Quiver for was shelter: Gimme Shelter! Quiver probably doesn’t have the intestinal fortitude to drive Shaky and Edison out, So, there goes her parole! This isn’t going end pretty for any of these desperadoes….
Yes, Shaky, you’re on the run after a shoot-out with a police officer during which his wife was wounded. Go out in public with charity cans. Smart move!
