The classic 1964 Burt Lancaster film, The Train, has just been added to the Amazon Prime streaming service. It’s a fantastic movie with a good story, solid acting, and some spectacular action set pieces. Burt shows off his background as a circus acrobat by performing all of his own stunts, and even severely injured himself in the process. At its heart it’s a crime story about a Nazi art heist, so it should easily appeal to most every Dick Tracy fan.
The film very rarely is screened on TCM or any of the streaming services, so this is a somewhat special opportunity. Amazon Prime even has a 30-day free trial so it won’t cost anything (if you remember to cancel in time.) Do yourself a favor and check it out. I’ll even guarantee it — if you don’t come away thinking it was a really good film, I’ll reimburse you for the free trial!!
