I went to a restaurant with my aunt and her friends. Her friends ordered nachos but they wanted to hold the meat, salsa, etc., until all they were left with was a plate of chips covered with cheese. In their world, that was what nachos were and there was no convincing them otherwise. I think they figured the “extras” were coming off their bill too, but the joke was on them as it certainly didn’t work out that way, but the good news is they had something else to complain about. The Pennys in real life are no fun…
Some time ago before I retired, we asked a co-worker if he’d like to go to “coffee” with us. All he wanted was a free cup of hot water. He then pulled a tea bag out of his pocket and dunked. He would fit in with the Penny’s. BTW, I did give the waitress an extra tip and apologized the next time (without him, of course) we were there.
