Timmy, always remember…It’s easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission. Oh, and found it.

In the Dinette Set, as in reality, life isn’t fair.

Most parents try to shield their children from that harsh truth for as long as they can…

But this bunch seems to enjoy rubbing poor Timmy’s nose in it… reveling in wrongdoing, while inadvertently giving him perfect examples of how not to be.

Right, Tim… be a wimp and ask politely… and see who ends up with cupcakes.

Meanwhile… that dog should have been a Find-It… tokk me a while to realise that was Manny, not a huge ruffle on her dress.

    Speaking of Find-It’s…. I think I found it too….

the only problem is, the one I see, probably that we all see, is a logical part of the picture… NOT a “hidden object.”

If someone has found a dog bone that’s hidden in the drawing, or at least out of place, or pretending to be something else…

Please, don’t leave a spoiler today…. but tell me about it on tomorrow’s toon…

unless it’s close to Friday bedtime, when everybody has probably had a chance already.

Meanwhile… sorry, I didn’t make it to the comics yesterday… so I just saw some replies from the other day.

Someone asked, quite logically, why I thought there could be a rerun Find-It object left on the very first Find-It puzzle.

    Good question… maybe I was wrong…

But OTOH, I don’t think our “firsts” are really first.

The Dinette Set has started and stopped and back-tracked several times.

The one GoComics calls the first one is first in their archives and probably the earliest to which they own the display or publication rights …

but it’s © 2005…. and is probably already a rerun, or a reworked panel with new dialog.

The strip started publication in 1997… and we don’t have access to those early strips.

There could have been a few years of Find-It puzzles from before the current batch of re-runs started.

I remember Julie announcing in the forum that the strip was starting over, back in maybe 2012 or 13… but it went into reruns again much more recently.

I don’t care… it’s still fun to read…. and impossible to totally recall.

The Pennys can still shock me even when I ought to remember that I saw them do whatever they’re doing before.

Never did notice that “find the” feature when this strip ran the first time around. Pretty clever diversion actually, since reading about the activities of the main characters in this strip generally does not promote euphoria, encouragement or good will.
