The golem has been destroyed. Any further comments must refer to a zombie SP who no longer exists for Doonesbury but lives on in the minds of those who want to believe that the zombie (the one in Wasilla) will some day “get the picture.” And Sam will have a magical memory of her homicidal golem. Will it influence her vote in ten years?

Ps: “… the funniest Doonesbury in a long time.”—-Justice22 (below).

Yes. I like the bubbles instead of a speech-stroke coming from the doll to indicate that Boopsie can’t hear what Sam hears. To make SP think (or refudiate, as she does here), you’ve got to use your imagination.

Offended Teapartiers should note that if the doll really stands for a formidable opponent whom GT fears, then GT considers the Teaparty no more dangerous than a little girl. Even Boopsie sees through SP.

And yet Boopsie is wrong. There’s today’s real lesson.

Thinking Americans ™ must realize that Garry is clearly in campaign mode, although his two weeks of hateful rhetoric have backfired so far.

That is, unless you want to consider getting Genius “mainstream billdog” fired up as success.

Keep in mind, that there are people out there who listen to and believe what she says. The danger still exists, despite the clever comments. The Third Reich relied on those who would believe in the such rhetoric. Voltaire once said, “He who can lead you to believe an absurdity can lead you to commit an atrocity.”

billdog, I imagine that you thought the Hitler thing was just fine when applied to GWB, but I agree with you that comparing Obama to Hitler is just wrong. He’s much more comperable to Mao.

I love good satire. I usually find the adventures of the Palin Doll to be clever and hilarous, but today’s strip and the ones promoting child murder have nothing to do with satire. It’s about as close to propaganda as I’ve ever seen Garry go.

Yer kidding, right? Palin’ is about as scary as a bottle of Yoohoo. She’s just really fun to make fun of - and easy, too. Kinda like Dan Quayle in his prime.

Reminds me of one occasion when Dennis Miller was still doing standup, right after Bush/Quayle had lost the election. Miller walked out onto the stage and, after the initial applause following the intro had started to die down, spoke two words into the microphone:

    “Dan Quayle….”

Before he could even get to the third word, the laughter and applause were already starting.

Miller just grinned, listened to the laughter and applause (which was still getting louder), shook his head, and said,

“Oh Danny, I’m SO going to miss you, boy.”

    :D

what’s really scary are the people who take her seriously or think she has any legitimacy as a leader. gt has the courage to speak the truth about exactly who she is.

    Awesome.

The Dan Quayle reference above is apt, only she’s dumber and meaner, which is a dangerous combo. Fortunately, she’s forever doomed her political career by quitting on Alaska. She can do a lot of damage as a female Blimpbaugh though.

misterwhite, I am surprised that you take issue with my statement that Obama is more comparable to Mao than he is to Hitler. Here’s my reasoning:

    1) Mao and Obama were well educated. Hitler is said to have not graduated high school.

    2) Mao and Obama were both community organizers with terrorist friends before assuming power. Hitler was never a community organizer, unless you put the beer hall speeches into that category.

    3) Mao and Obama smoke/d cigarettes. Hitler did not. In fact, none of the facist leaders smoked (Franco and Mussolini included), while Mao, Stalin, and Obama do/did.

Now, if you wish to argue the opposite of what I said, in that Hitler is more comparable to Obama than he is to Mao, please enlighten us with your debating skills and do so.

Awwww, you didn’t have to delete your own post, but I understand why you did.

    :-)

Garry, the Palin thing is getting tedious. How about a strip on how Obama’s failed policies have put this country 13 trillion in debt? Or maybe one where with double digit unemployment, the only jobs his stimulus is creating are government bureaucrat jobs?

I don’t know if Sarah has ever burned books, but I do know that when she was first elected Mayor here in Wasilla, she contacted the head librarian to see if she had the power to ban books. I am sure she was disappointed to find she didn’t, but the librarian was eased out of her job a short time later. And that is a fact!

@Nabuquduriuzhur; This country I live in, otherwise known as Canada, doesn’t bear even a slight resemblance to your description. To be more specific:

As I kept on reading, I got more and more puzzled. School shootings? Yes, we have them. Very occasionally. Since our police are less gun-crazy than your American ones, the fatality rate is much lower. And you never thought of mentioning this, but apparently the crime rate has being going down steadily, year by year.

Pastors routinely imprisoned?? when/where? the Bible is hate speech? I guess, yes, when you take it literally. 20% of Canadians who die, do so due to unavailability of treatment?? Now come on, there is no treatment for death - everyone is going to have that.

Thousands of women go to the USA to have their children?? Never heard of that either. And wouldn’t that make those children Americans? are you experiencing a small but definite population increase?

Similarly, a small but definite increase in the sale of stamps? and no matter if we mail our letters in the US, the replies will have to be sent to Canada, which will make them slower anyway.

Finally (thank goodness!), drug crime - which in fact refers to marijuana only. Overwhelming medical research shows that the use of marijuana reduces sickness/pain from illness (e.g. sickness when undergoing chemotherapy and getting dizzy).

We do not have the legalization to grow your own that you seem to be suggesting. We have a bunch of weird laws that basically permit you to get it if_ you have permission from a doctor - but make it very hard for you to find anybody who has the right to grow it and _sell it to you in the first place.

Enjoy your fantasies - I just can’t imagine where you get them.
