Clueless? He’s one of the brighter characters Trudeau’s introduced in some time, and I am not being sarcastic here.

..Ok,there are some pretty sexist remarks here, this morning…just because a woman is beautiful, does that mean that the guy has to go all ga-ga over her, even when he’s in love with her best friend? And he has to be brain damaged not to drool over this other beauty?

Toogle did it correctly, admiting she is beautiful(instead of pretending you didn’t/don’t notice),takes the hidden drama out of the situation.

We are taught that beauty is a super power, and that everyone wants and desires it -even over love-when it is the opposite way around.

    I blame Tv

His brain damage does not lead to cluelessness. It’s only Broca’s aphasia, meaning he can’t talk very well.

“Women are evolving, men are devolving!”

GEE1A, sexism in favor of women is still sexism. And a comment like that posits the notion that one sex might really be “superior” to the other – whatever that means. Then we’re just weighing which one. Is that really a debate you want to start?

Meh…I believe that from the perspective of most women, the idea of equality with men is offensive and would in many respects be a loss. That said, I’ve been known to hoist them by pointing out that women are just as capable as men are in every respect… and maybe sometimes a little more so.

I get tired of this silliness of “women are just as capable as men are in every respect”. So women can go down dark alleys at night and not worry? So there are just as many women in the NFL as there are men? Women compete with men straight up in track, weightlifting, golf, tennis? Don’t be ridiculous. Men are, in general, physically stronger than women. Not even close if you compare the strongest women, however you choose to measure that, and the strongest men. That said, women have many attributes in which they excel. They are better nurturers, generally have more compassion than men, and don’t have the achille’s tendon that men have with sex, as is so evident on the evening news lately. This pendulum swing over the last 30 years or so to convince women they can do anything a man can do, or even do it all better is pure crap. Just as saying a man can do anything a woman can do is pure crap. Men and women each have abilities the other doesn’t have at all, or as much of, as the opposite sex. Neither is inherently superior to the other. And it’s sexist, not to mention childish, to claim superiority for either. And men that take up this feminist cry are cowards, pure and simple.

^ Yup. Exactly. Overall. The women I hoist with that line are the ones that start trashing men in some respect or another. Sexism of many flavors runs deep and in both directions. There are differences for sure, but one had best be careful when making rude generalizations around me.And believe me, I’m no coward.

salgud’s diatribe is all that’s needed to prove the exact opposite argument.

There’s no need to continue arguing over GEE1A’s silly comments. Successful troll is successful. Let’s move on.

^ So why don’t you start by using my diatribe to show how women are physically stronger than men?

@billdi Is that your generic rebuttal to any statement you can’t think of a rational reply to? If not, please tell me how it proves the opposite of what I said. Show me that women are, in fact, physically stronger than men. Show me that men are better nurturers than women. Go thru my list and make your rebuttal, if you can. Or just make another vapid, meaningless criticism because you can’t make a case for your side, whatever works best for you.

Old movie, “Johnny Lingo”. Beauty of a woman is mostly dependent on how she thinks of herself. The biggest problem they had making the movie was makeuping the native actress to make her look ugly enuff.

I think what salgud was trying to say is: “It’s hard for someone to be an evolver with such primitive gender perceptions.”

I’ve always been opposed to self violence against women … but not necessarily the imagery.

First of all, there are some women who are stronger, etc. than some men. It’s this overlap that makes absolute statements sexist. The whole discussion shows a lack of understanding of what’s important. Such as allowing a woman into medical school. And treating her work equally. And developing more feminine characteristics in men and more masculine characteristics in women, e.g. men participating more in housekeeping and in raising the children. To help people know more about the other sex, and give them a better range of choices.

I have to admit that I think Sarah Palin is very attractive, even sexy. Beautiful complexion, those check bones, nice breasts and legs, but it all comes toppling down when she opens her mouth. The disaster that she is becomes very apparent.
