Daughters ALL develop ways of ‘managing’ Fathers. If not, no Boyfriend’s would survive long enough to become Son-In-Laws!

Dad’s are the last (and most often never) ones to get stuff like this. The common refrain in my house is “Oh, Dad!”

About the folded newspaper yesterday. That reminded me of the news item about the Major League Baseball expansion to develop a team in the Philippines.

Located in the Capital City, they will be known as the “Manila Folders”.

I had a gay friend several years ago, but nobody even suggested that I might be, also. He was just part of the group, and we accepted him.

I just saw this in Blowback and it worries me:.When the break began the syndicate announced it would be sending out Flashback strips “at least until Labor Day.” .“At least”. Could be longer?

I have had some very close gay friends. None of the men ever hit on me and I never hit on the women.

She’s not in combat. She’s a helicopter mechanic (in Afghanistan, yes, but not in a “rifle company”).

Unless you cut it really short – like, an inch or less – it’s going to look messy. Long hair in a bun looks neater than short hair going every which way. Plus, most women in the military like to be able to look more feminine out of uniform. I always had mine long, and I considered cutting it short, but the problem is that if you don’t like it short, or if the style doesn’t look neat an professional, you’re stuck. The medium-length stage that you have to go through to grow it out long again is almost impossible to get to uniform standards – it’s too short to neatly pin up, and too long to wear loose or just clipped back (has to be above the bottom of the collar).Some military women do keep their hair short, but as long as it’s within regs, having it long is okay. I used to keep a plastic box of elastics, clips, and pins in our detachment orderly room – so if I told a female that her hair had to be neater, I could immediately give her the tools to make the improvement. An important tenet in performance counseling – you can’t just say “do better”, you have to give them a way to do it.

“Why is it that women don’t cut their hair short for the military? It is stupid not to. Long hair in combat is an error.”-No problem, they aren’t supposed to be in combat. If that changes, a quick snip rectifies the situation.

Old joke:I always figure if women don’t throw themselves at me, they must be lesbians.There sure are A LOT of them!!
