In fact, there were non-smoking seats right in front of the smoking seats.

Subs have electrostatic precipitators and carbon filters that do a pretty good job of clearing particulates. Venting sanitary tanks is pretty bad, though.

I took my first airline flight in 1966. I flew from Milwaukee to LA. They actually gave everyone a small pack of cigarettes along with their meal on that flight. My, how times have changed! For the better, I might add.

Remember when flying was supposed to be a luxurious experience?

i really wonder what caused smoking to become “uncool”. the days of popular “votes” are over. nowadays they allow the “vote” to con us into thinking our vote matters. lol how cute, those little people, thinking they have some “control” in how America is run. lol

Pressurized does not mean sealed. The air in an airplane is changed constantly. It’s pumped in (using air from the fan get induction) and allowed to escape in a controlled fashion that maintains the desired pressure.

The funny thing was the non-smoking section was usually in the back of the plane. The air moved front to back. Yep, that worked out well.

It’s funny how we forget that smoking was allowed in restaurants, airplaines, offices. It just seemed like the norm back then.
