Agent: It used to be a shoe factory. As you can see, lotsa space here, lotsa potential. JJ: It's perfect! We'll take it, won't we, Michael? Agent: I think it's just the kind of fixer-upper you kids are looking for. You got your genuine oak floors here, your industrial plumbing. And the loading ramp can always be converted! Mike: Into what? JJ: A breakfast nook, of course. Agent: Or a weight room. Lotsa people turn 'em into weight rooms.

Is the real estate suggesting that Mike needs to work out?

If it was a shoe factory it’s probably pretty toxic.

Check out the electrical supply and wiring. Might be DC. Back then there were still some city areas with DC.

. The real estate agent uttered the scariest hyphenated words known to the potential buyer ( or renter ) ….fixer-upper ! Run, Mike…run !

I want to build an underground home here, but no one will underwrite the VA “guaranteed” loan (guarantee of infinite frustrations) so I can have a house that fits my needs and will required virtually no maintenance. In the meantime I watch assets build while hoping to find a bank with a clue.

One of the coolest places on Earth, the City Museum in St. Louis, is a former shoe factory. All Mike needs to do is install a ten-story spiral slide and it’s fun all the time.

That ‘fixer-upper’ is now selling for double-digit millions to Silicon Alley CEOs.

Renters have to fix-up? I could understand clean-up, but unless they plan to stay for decades, I wouldn’t pay to fix-up.

Something like the first house, only when its finished we plan to bury it to get a “hobbit house” effect. Also having a bullet proof house in Northeast Texas should be useful. Doubt we’d use any real mushroom shapes as I want it one level.
