I don’t wear clothing that promotes any corporations. The idea of paying for an item that gives free advertisement for a company I don’t work for seems silly. I won’t even wear logoed apparel for the company I work for while off the clock.

It’s not a command from the high lord of whatever. It’s a plea from the void that is the internet. So, a “suggestion”. You do you dudes.

But if I don’t wear branded merchandise, how can I advertise what tribe I belong to, and how belonging to it makes me better than you?!

There are many people who feel “naked” if they are not wearing clothing that immediately identifies them as part of some larger group – be it sports, social class, corporations, or political organizations, it’s really a “gang” mentality. I prefer to leave people guessing until I know them better.

This series really surprises me since Gary, the liberal, is bashing Nike, which is ultra liberal. I’m glad he is, though. I stopped wearing Nike shoes a long time ago, not only because of the slave labor, but because of some of the people they chose as spokespersons.
