I remember time before clickers. The adult would tell the kid to stand next to the tv and “go up a channel”. What sucked was if the show they wanted to watch was fuzzy and you had to stand there and hold the antenna.
The ‘clicker’ I understand, not sure he avoided ads unless he is streaming only. But that brings up other questions, like who’s paying for his streaming service, what is he streaming it on.
