It’s your problem if the kid is disrupting your meal by it’s noise, and the parents aren’t dealing with it, including leaving with doggie bags if necessary. Noisy kids shouldn’t be tolerated in any restaurant where they bother other guests. I worked in a restaurant many years ago and saw this all the time.
Obviously having another kid is a big commitment that shouldn’t be taken lightly, and Len is probably right to be working to talk Abby out of it (I mean, with THEIR lackluster spending habits, they probably can’t afford it)…but I do wish the case would be made through means OTHER than “it’d be an inconvenience to us from doing fun things,” which always struck me as a kinda selfish argument, honestly.
“What were they thinking”? The exact same thing YOU were thinking in yesterday’s strip, dummy! Remember you just said “we could go out with a little baby”?!?

Lenny hasn’t played his ace — Have another kid, get rid of that flashy car she loves.

The kid would be making as much noise at home as it is in the restaurant, so the parents don’t care.
As for the fact that the screaming is ruining everyone else’s meal… I already said the parents don’t care.

“Oh, my goodness! Oh, but wasn’t that simply adorable of my little cutesy-poo? I think he/she has a future as a pitcher!”

What’s even worse is when two employees start arguing so loud that you can’t help but overhear. THAT will ruin a meal.
