As I have said: Valentine Day was for children, and now it is too commercial. All I gave my wife for Valentine Day was a card,… “quietly saying”, … and a necklace, ear rings, a box of chocolate, a Valentine shape cake, and a day at the spa.
I got a laundry basket one year for Valentine’s Day. For our anniversary I got a new set of battery-powered hedge clippers—-but the joke was on him. It was too heavy for me so he ended up using it, lol.
He had a couple of options, but they require fast thinking. One would be to ditch the oven mitts and invent an excuse to run out and get her an acceptable present. Another would be to suggest that they immediately make use of her gift, and hope he can keep her mind off the fact that he didn’t give her a present yet.

For shame, Len! They don’t even have little red hearts on them.

Practical, but thoughtful, gifts on Valentine’s Day are NOT appreciated.

Force him to wear them and then try and be romantic. Could be worth the giggles as he fumbles with buttons and bows. ;-)

In the Before Times, The Bride once got a pizza stone for Christmas. She was NOT pleased.
