I love that line. Leaders lead only so far as followers follow.I plan to use it as often as I can. If it doesn’t disagree with you. Please. When I was very young I used to say " let’s go here>)" Suprisingly nobody EVER followed. Sigh. You do good work Aaron. Blessed BE

“You’re my prisoner, you have to obey me?” Well, I guess it’s finally time we all saw the truth for ourselves: Wally is the new leader of this merry band.

Looks like Flask got a reality check and she didn’t like it! Poor Flask, she never learned that real leaders put the best interests of their followers over those of their own.

Interesting metaphor that our heros (except Petey, who didn’t need help, but supplied it) all used each other to get out of that box, leaving Flask alone, having to admit that she needs help, and has none. “Loser!!”And I expect we’ve all known those who thought they were so superior that the rest of us should bow down at the altar of their intellect—NOT. Love it.

Flask enforced her leadership with a deadly gun. Now Wally is the one with a gun, but he’ll use it to enforce his independence, not his leadership. Ironically, he didn’t wanted to touch a gun when this started.

I thought Petey promised to stay close by the PT. Just 8 panels later and he’s going over the wall? Leaving both parts of his past behind….Hmm.

Actually, I think Wally’s comment in panel 2 is a bit harsh. Nothing Flask could have done would have had an impact on the rocket launch. Based on all of the intel Wally could have gathered, they’d still attack the fake and they’d still have no way of infiltrating the silo holding the real thing. It’s not Flask’s fault that Endtown is at risk, even if she was the one that initiated the original rocket research (the Topsider himself stated that they succeeded in completing the rocket without her). Wally’s disgust seems to be based mainly on finding out that Flask was hiding her Topsider background, and she wasn’t even trying to do that very hard.

I have not had a clue about this strip since they got to the rocket base. I have no idea what the heck has gone on between yesterday and today’s boards. I have been following this for just a few months and the story just keeps getting murkier.

What is really deceptive is how fast this all has occurred. We have had months to agonize over and debate what has been going on. But even though it was way back on Sep 9, 2011 that this little group set out on it’s quest (in our time) to them it has all happened in maybe 36 hrs max. It’s been less than 24 (Endtown) hours since the Sandy incident. When you add up killing Sandy, dusting Doug, mutating Linda, her emotional confession to Petey, the TSer revalations, the “Blackie Blackout”, and her attitude toward Holly, all in the space of one day, it would be enough to make anyone question Flask’s fitness for command.

Be careful how you treat “Volunteers”. If you don’t have leadership, they often vote with their feet. Sorry Flask, but you’ve let the crazy show too often and have been too willing to sacrifice your own. Goodbye!

I like your assessment of Flask DAD, I think it’s right on the money. I, too, like Flask and even thought she was probably a pretty good security chief early on. However as the storyline went on, she started to unravel. The first questions came when she killed off her two interogators, even then one could make excuses for what she did (in the name of security and allegiance to Endtown). Mallard should have discussed with Flask the possibility of openning up about her past to the rest of the party. There are no closets to hide skeletons in when your involved in small party operations. The party depends on each other too much and to find out your leader was one of the enemy in the middle of things……well, it’s just bad timing. People get killed when faith in leadership collapses. Unless, perhaps, a stonger leader takes over and everyone is willing to follow. Should be interesting to see where Flask goes from here.

Gentle readers, let’s just reflect for a moment on the heroic effort Aaron Neathery put in to give us the strips we are currently reading. They were written and drawn while he was very sick with an infection and on medication, and then on further medication for an allergy to the previous medication. They were created literally on his sick bed. He’s now behind his schedule and behind the eight ball with medical bills. Anyone who wants to buy original Endtown art (stuff that he’s already drawn, as opposed to a commission he’d have to find time to complete) will be purchasing part of the Endtown legend as well as helping Aaron continue his output of this very same legend.

Just got home and voted on the computer. Voted on my iPhone at work today. #98 and 798 votes!

I just glanced at some of the other top 100 comics, and I know people’s tastes differ from my own, but I can’t believe some of those others are more popular than Endtown. Only one of them I even recognised (Bear Nuts), and I know its creator offers “bribes” on her website to garner votes, such as images that you must vote first before seeing. I wonder if Aaron could do something like that on the EndTown forum?

My favorite line in this? Panel 3, where Petey is helping Linda over the wall, and she tells Flask to “Drop dead”!Even the most delicate psyche, reeling in shock from a horrendous (to her) transformation, get’s Flask’s number!

Lead, follow, or get out of the way. Apparently Flask doesn’t have the smarts to do either. She’s a clever, ruthless character that suddenly discovers that she’s on her own unless she swallows her pride and allows Wally to lead them to freedom. Wally’s parting words add a sharper jab to Flask’s humiliation.
