This is interesting…. if it’s a dream sequence there are more senses involved than just sight here since Wally is complaining about the smell.
I myself dream in color but I don’t recall experiencing scents or smells when I dream. So maybe Marx has taken Wally into an alternate reality instead? Maybe. The question wandering through my pre-coffee brain this morning is “why are they there?”
This could be Wally’s dream metaphor for “and they lived happily ever after…with certain major qualifications” (as Marx related it) , but we left Wally and. Co. in the middle of a great dust wasteland, with just a box of maybe supplies.
Marx has tried to speak to Wally in a dream before. This time, he’s adult and “himself” as we know him. In another dream, a bit different: https://www.gocomics.com/endtown/2015/07/13
This is probably an “I” dream. These dreams usually have some warning about I, the shoe thief, threatening the worlds. Wally’s had a nice vacation, but he has a mission to get back to.

Lost his head. Sweets are good as long as you don’t eat too many.

Ev — entually? That sounds ominous…
I await explanation. I wonder how long the cookie situation is going to be milked…

Alternate reality him?

Somehow I get the impression that this is going to be a wild ride (and come to think of it, with Aaron Marx involved, it USUALLY IS a wild ride)! :/

Having Wally back is great! Marx is just frosting on the cake. Be careful that he doesn’t toss his cookies soon.

Is Marx hinting that he’s loosing his mind and having trouble staying focused in Reality?

Better treat yourself gingerly there, Marx..

I think the message is: “Run, run, run, as fast as you can!”

This is a SWEET set up to the new story! I’ll tread GINGERLY until we see how this COOKIE CRUMBLES! ICING Aaron’s praises for bringing Wally back!

I am so confused. I’d look for answers, but I think they eloped and headed south to Tijuana to escape the feds.

Another vivid dream for Wally? IIRC, all of the colourised panels we’ve seen over the years were Wally’s.

Good resemblance…….cookie Marx lost his head too.

Must’ve been some argument. The other guy bit his head off.

Despite his taunting nursery rhyme, it seemed they could indeed catch him…

Did we just get into the realm of metaphysics? If him is me, then which him (or me) bit the head off? Color me confused.

Oh, I see… One has lost his head. The other has lost his mind.
Which is which? You decide…

A Candy Parallel Universe?

Did Wally mean to say, “the cigar stink”? Last I checked, sugar has no discernible odor… maybe it does to a cat.
Twonky about 6 years ago
Raw cane sugar still has a bit of molasses in it. If I can smell it then Wally (as a feline) would pick up the scent easily!
Ponyhome about 6 years ago
Cats don’t have the equipment to enjoy sugar.

Lost his head, huh… Metaphor, or foreshadowing?

I could do without Marx ever again. But it is good to see Wally again, and we probably can’t get him back without Marx.
