So we will be down to Day and Less day? As long as we get rid of day light savings time I’m for it. I blame Motel 6 for leaving the light on for you, since 1972.
There may be better places but you can try out the Badlands National Park in SD, USA. Most stars I’ve seen in my life. West gate was left open at night.
Real night left the building a long time ago for most people. Down here, we send them out to the Big Bend of Texas to see real night in an official Dark Skies region rated Bortle 1, meaning sky as dark as the sky seen from space. Largest designated Dark Sky Reserve in the world at 9.8 million acres. https://www.bigbenddarkskyreserve.org/
Light pollution is getting so bad that few places can now host Observatories. You have to go to the Atacama desert in Chile or the Outback in Australia….

A new Walmart was built 5 doors away from my friend’s house. They don’t need a nightlight anymore.
