However, the Pattersons were never shown with a maid nor a Lexus, which the comic strip brought Lynn Johnston. Did Lynn believe that would be a turnoff to fans if Elly was shown as a successful cartoonist?
I stand corrected. I only saw as far as the strips with the running gag where John buys something and Elly moans how they are going to the poorhouse because of this.
