They’re messing with each other’s heads.

This is the type of strip that can bring tears to your eyes.

Sometimes silence speaks louder than words.

Lynn’s Notes:

The return of the four survivors was an exhilarating time for the families, but the end of an ordeal for the men. A Twin Otter on floats slowly pulled into the dock and four almost unrecognizable men were helped down from it. All were pale, thin, and covered in bug bites. They had been sheltered, warmed, and fed by the Search and Rescue techs, but the accident had left them weak and weary.

Never saw these is why! Didn’t start reading till Elizabeth was grown.

They do not need to speak thoughts speak clearly to each other.

Why do you get snarky about something you are reading for free? Just HOW is she financing ANYTHING off you? Or ME for that matter? 3 Fighting FishEven in the 1970s Canada did not insist on the name change nonsense. When we moved there, I told my wife this was her chance to recover her name, but she declined – too many people had trouble pronouncing it correctly.

This is the “For Better.” Tpmprrpw Jphn will be mouthing off and we’ll be back to the “For Worse.”

Cartoonists are dependent on ratings, or their strip goes kaput. Lynn Johnston came close to losing everything. In 1993 hundreds of newspapers terminated FBOFW. Not sure why her ratings dropped like a rock, but the fact is there that cartoonists must please their readers. The customers are the kings and queens.

Sometimes words get in the way. This is better.

Lynn Johnston is a cultural icon. These strips rank among the best ever produced. I love seeing them again.

Hey, I’m only 33 so all this is “Brand new” to me. April was already in Middle School when I started reading the original in earnest.

No words are needed when your with your love

And there are plenty of people who would love to live that modest “lifestyle”. Most of us out here in real worldville, ‘3’ have lives, not lifestyles.

Canada tidbit: Bob Crane’s final TV appearance was as a guest on the Canadian talk show Celebrity Cooks. The show was going to air in July of 1978, but Crane had been murdered shortly before the slated airdate. Out of respect for the Crane family, they never aired that episode. You can see the reenactment of the taping in the film Auto Focus.
