About the age of 60; I began catching glimpses of myself in car mirrors, reflections off of plate glass windows, etc. I would think; who is that old coot? Then I would realize; Its me!

its not looks, its personality. 50 years ago when I was in HS the most popular girl in school was very plain, but her personality was so great that no one noticed. OTOH, the most beautiful girl in school was so shy that she was never noticed. Until she returned for the 20 year reunion, no longer shy, but still beautiful

Lynn’s Notes:

I hated my nose. I hated the way it turned up, and I hated the freckles on it. I hated the shape of my forehead and the back of my head was flat. I also hated my shape. Strange how you spend so much time criticizing the things you can’t change while ignoring the things you can.

All mirrors distort to some extent. Ever been in a shop where large mirrors are on opposite walls? You will note that after several reflections, distortions get worse and worse. A notable exception to this rule are the “infinity mirrors” at the LDS temple in Nauvoo, Illinois. (I suspect they were ground optically flat?) The reflections show no noticeable distortion.

Too bad Elizabeth is too young for Jimmy Durante. He thinks her nose is great.

Elizabeth ought not be so down. There are movie stars with big noses and the films they starred in, such as:
