They do, Liz! They just don’t do that on command. You have to pretend to leave them on the floor and walk away. However if Farley is not in the habit of chewing stuff left on the floor, he probably will not eat your homework. Blame on your mom. She trained him well.
“I omitted the top of the first 3 panels here just to see if it would make a nice change to the look of the strip. I think it did. It was around this time that I started to white out borders and let parts of the illustration extend outside the line. I’ve never been one to keep things the same; another reason why the characters "grew up."
Do teachers really bother to actually read the papers they assign? My son was assigned a twelve-page essay. Suspecting that he did not read these essays, we put together a paper with the first four and last four pages as assigned, but filled in the middle pages with a combination of copy from Spanish, German and Turkish literature I had on hand. It passed. (His younger brother is now a teacher, and he says he doesn’t assign anything that he doesn’t read – if he assigns it he reads and corrects it)
I used to teach college. Once I had a student actually told me that her dog (still a puppy) ate her homework! She showed me the homework (a corner missing, and well-chewed but still legible enough for me to read) as well as her textbook with a well-chewed corner! We had a good laugh!
Our dog really did eat our son’s homework once. It was an art project that was actually very well done. The dog got hold of it and lets just say she added her own “artistic” touches. He turned it in anyway with an explanation and got an A on the project.

Fortunately for me, I never had a dog who would eat my homework. No recollection of the cats shredding it though.

They might eat the paper if your fingers still had peanut butter on them from lunch.

Looks like you’ve got some of it done already. Why would you want to waste that effort?

Some dogs do, but not all. When I was in middle school, one guy would use the excuse and finally, one day, he brought in his chew-up textbook.

Sure they do. You just need to smear the right perfume on it. Like eau de bacon or some such.

Sure they do. I had to write the note to my son’s teacher and sent her what was left of it.
This was the same puppy that ate an entire couch.

My dog doesn’t eat pickles. Give her part of a burger, she’ll eat everything else and leave the pickles on the floor.

That’s really more of a puppy thing (or misbehaved adult dogs).

Farley is seeing how homework tastes, while the Enjos are wondering how Farley tastes.

Put gravy on the homework before you try feeding it to the dog.
