I would add to Elly’s list bibs, nightgowns, hooded towels, and that stroller we saw in the baby shower strip. Also, burp cloths, bottle and nipple brush, disposable wipes, infant tub, baby thermometer, bulb syringe, baby nail clippers, night light, diaper genie, and…it’s been 20 years since I had a baby in my house, but I am surprising myself by how much I remember.
I am confused by the intercom. Is this what they call baby monitors in Canada?
Also, take that baby powder off your list, Elly. Don’t want that baby to aspirate the powder
My grandmother got by with a drawer for a crib, dusting cloths for diapers, and some hand-me-down clothes. No bottles, formula, diaper service, etc. You can manage with a lot less, even now-a-days.
Some things on that list are considered very old fashioned now a days. Diaper service? Who had the money to hire a diaper service? Pampers were just coming out when my first was born. I used cloth. Even sewed up my own. And, washed them. Most ladies I knew did the same. We were stay-at-home-moms and proud of it. But scarifies had to be made.
My late ex-father-in-law owned a large laundry service in Canada that provided diaper service to homes and hospitals as well as cleaning sheets, uniforms, etc. for hospitals. I toured the plant with him and came away convinced that cloth diapers were more sanitary and better for the baby than Pampers and other disposable diapers.
The cost of a diaper service ( at least back in the late-‘80s to mid-’90s) was cheaper than disposables.
I used a diaper service when my son was born. As a single mom, I am so glad that I did. They provided a diaper pail with a heavy duty liner. I would put that liner out on the porch once a week and when I got home from work it was exchanged for one full of clean diapers. As someone else has said, the service was actually a lot cheaper than disposables and I didn’t have to worry about land fills. One of the benefits was that the diapers were specially treated by the service with an alkaline neutralizer for his very acid urine. Without that neutralizer, he would have had an almost constant diaper rash. With it, he rarely had a problem.
Due date in my experience( we had 4 kids) is just a guess by the doctor. One kid was born 2 weeks before due date, twins born a week after and youngest born 2 weeks after. Kids are born when they are ready, no matter what Dr says

Have you looked at the prices of baby items lately? They are very expensive. An electric breast pump for milk is $300!

I love the vintage comics! So hard to realize that the bump is a fully grown adult character, according to the timeline of the fully finished series.

I don’t usually comment on typos but yours is just too funny.
After a good wash, you “but” that on their rear ends to prevent another rash.Guessing you meant put or butt
