If I recall, my apartment complex’s pool was closed during the 110-ish degree heat wave here in Clark County, Washington the weekend before July Fourth. Oh, how I wish I had a dip in said pool, but nope. Had to work at the grocery store and take a cool shower upon returning home in my AC’d unit.
Paige, if you stay in the pool a little longer your body adjusts and it doesn’t feel so cold. The bad news, however, is that no antipode exists for the annoying brother.
I was hiking in the grand canyon. Got to the river, it was 113F air temp, and 48F water temp. Standing knee deep in the river did not average out, it was doubly unpleasant.
Jason’s being surprisingly general. He would probably calculate how long Paige was in each side and the temperature and make an average ‘comfort’ scale
What could he MEAN by that? Is he just careening around the truth or driving over the MEDIAN? He seems to be a STANDARD DEVIATION in this family, but then I always liked his SIGMA male approach.
This reminds me of cooling off in Lake Superior in August. It was 85, but the lake was maybe 60. I could wade in to my knees and sweat while my toes turned blue. The yoopers were swimming, they are a different breed up there.

“Average” is not always the best way to merge numbers.

Couldn’t she just go half and half? Sit at the edge of the pool with her legs in?
