My son did this. We had a fence at the end of the complex in which we lived. On the other side was a road. So, we told our son NOT to go over the fence. One day we saw him on the other side. He claimed he did not go over the fence; he went UNDER it.
When giving rules to children be very specific on what you tell them.
Semantics is everything. I impressed a former boss by asking for a week off by only asking for 2 days. It was Thanksgiving weekend, so the store would be closed Thursday, Sunday would be my regular Sunday off, Friday & Monday would be my regular weekdays off. I only asked for Tuesday and Wednesday.
Reminds me of a Planet Fitness I belonged to many years ago. They said they were open round the clock from Monday to Thursday, that they closed at 10PM on Friday, were open from 8AM through 9PM on Saturday, and from 8AM through 6 or 7PM on Sunday. All of this should have meant they opened at the stroke of midnight when Sunday turned to Monday. That struck me as unlikely, but I never checked.
