Advertising has reached the stage of ‘negative approval’ for many users. Most distracting are those that include motion or video that can’t be turned off. Unfortunately for the seller, they turn me off, and they make it unlikely I will ever even consider purchasing their product or service.
Of course, I am only one possible buyer so my refusal does little harm to their P&L statement, but I can guess there are lots of others who harbor the same feelings toward them.
Just a word of advice here for GoComics (not that they’ll listen or even read it); we that use an adblocker on your site have no sympathy for your asking us to turn it off. We might if the page wouldn’t jump around to locations other than where we want it or load an ad over the comic that we have to click away or numerous other irritants. And trying to blackmail us into buying and “Insider”/no-ad user level with the intrusive stuff just makes us more determined not to. Thank you.

The insider fee is quite reasonable, and, to me, worth every cent. I’ve been using ad blockers for a long time, and plan to keep on doing so.
