I mentioned this before on other sites; My wife was concerned and commented on her cleaning up after my cooking, and doing so for the past 25 years. I told her, “Play your cards right and you will be cleaning up after me for another 25 years.” So, while no longer in progress, according to her, I am still a piece of work.
I learned from a program manager that if you made some headway you can report "progress, if are doing anything on a project you can report “activity” and if you haven’t done anything you can report “activity”. Ah, the beautiful phraseology of management.

My deck remains a “work in progress”. With half the surface pulled up and the delivery of the replacement decking delayed yet again.

My life is a work in progress and every day I try to make something better. My three rapscallions deserve it.

When you are constantly improving your position no project is ever really complete. A pause between phases just looks like it’s at a standstill.
