    humility?

to teach us to cook food properly?

to keep us thinner, despite eating too much?

I love bats even more after handling a sweet little tame brown bat, forever captive after being injured. So soft, and it purrs!

We don’t need mosquitoes, but if there is a niche in nature, some life form will fill it.

The world was not built for the needs of humans. Bats exist because there’s a place for them and they evolved to exploit it.

Because good luck NOT having mosquitoes. Also, they provide food for many other creatures.

Without bats there could be no Batman. What other reason do you need?

According to a RadioLab episode, a world without mosquitoes would look rather nice. They aren’t useful in any capacity that helps us humans.

Thanks to white nose syndrome I haven’t seen a bat in ages. Just two years ago the skies were polluted with them

A world without bats we would be living in a world with sane belfries.Do most dragonflies have guacamole with their mosquitos?Without mosquitos the Panama Canal would have been complete 100 years earlier and under French control.Without bats Bruce Wayne would just be The Man.

My dad always said mosquitos were here for penance! Since there’s nothing (not even bats) that rely solely upon them for sustenance, I can go along with that.

Mosquitos are pollinators, (the prime pollinators for some plants like wild northern blueberries) so when we kill off all the bees and butterflies, we’ll still have some crops

I’ve used the same argument to people who hate spiders. Sometimes works, sometimes not. I guess it depends on whether they hate spiders or mosquitos more.
